What a fantastic noho marae we had. Thank you to all parent help who could help transport and stay the night. One of the highlights for us kaiako was when the tamariki started to understand and demonstrate the meaning of 'tangata marae' by helping out and doing things around the marae without being asked. Mikaere, Bailee and Issy in particular were 'tangata marae'. We hope that this transfers not only to being a 'tangata marae' at kura but also at home. Please reinforce the saying 'tangata marae' by encouraging your tamariki to take the initiative and help out around the home.
